Crumpler Haven (L) – Gear Review

If you have not known, My LOVE for CRUMPLER never subside. I’ve always have this great fondness for this awesome great crafted and designed merchandise . I’ve 2 messenger bags. I legendary huge size and another travel friendly size where i will not bump into anyone sitting by the side as i cross over and knocking them out cold.

So here is the latest addition to my collection of Crumpler since they discontinued the Fux Deluxe bucket insert. I present to you another great product from Crumpler… Haven Series. There are 3 size “S”, “M” & “L”

“S”: 20 cm / 7.8 inches X 22 cm / 8.6 inches (H) X 10 cm / 3.9 inches (D) | 2 L / 122 cu” (Volume) | 0.2 kg / 0.44 lbs (Weight)

• Designed to a hold micro 4/3, compact camera or DSLR and lens.

“M”: 22 cm / 8.6 inches X 22 cm / 8.6 inches (H) X 12 cm / 4.7 inches (D) | 3 L / 183 cu” (Volume) | 0.23 kg / 0.5 lbs (Weight)

• Designed to hold a DSLR twin lens kit.

“L”: 26 cm / 10.2 inches X 23.5 cm / 9.2 inches (H) X 14 cm / 5.5 inches (D) | 4 L / 244 cu” (Volume) | 0.3 kg / 0.66 lbs (Weight)

• Designed to fit a DSLR twin lens kit and flash or full frame body and lens.

Now it only comes in 2 colors. I guess I was lucky enough to grab the last batch of Grey/Red. The colors available now is Grey/Green & Grey/Orange

The top was too raw so i added some padding from another camera bag

All the crumpler Haven comes with:

TWO STORAGE ZONES

• Fully configurable main compartment with two velcro-mounting slimline dividers
• Five exterior mesh pockets for cables, filters, memory cards and lens caps

FAST OPENING, SECURE CLOSING

• The drawstring with cord lock ensures fast opening and secure, gap-free closure.

360 DEGREE PROTECTION

• The Haven’s base, sides and internal dividers are all padded. When closed, the sides fold inwards at the top, creating 360 degree protection.

WATER RESISTANT

• Although designed to sit inside other bags, the Haven outer is made from water resistant materials. The exterior mesh pockets, however, are not.

I love the solidness of the Crumpler Haven. But if only they have a nice padding on top

As you can see, I’ve a very awkward insert in my crumpler Haven. This is true because its a thick padded velcro (cyan) divider from another camera bag. I notice the top didn’t close completely even when I stretched and pull fully on the drawstring which leaves the top unprotected. Seeing I’ve 1 sided velcro-mounted pads I decide to make it like a door opening at the top. at least I can control the flow. Although i dislike the color as well as the thickness compared to the original pads which came with the Crumpler Haven L.

It doesn’t fully close up leaving the top visible and naked. This is a fully closed stretched look

Other than the top the whole Camera carry bag is absolutely fabulous and protective over what you decide to keep inside

The 1st pic of the day was the fav of my photographer 😛

This was actually the 1st pose of our 1st shoot of the day and Annie, the photographer loves the feel of it. Even though the room was a small one but we managed to make full use of the space. The whole room was shifted to one side so we can get a clear flat wall as backdrop. The original down lights on the ceiling was turn off for extra darkness. The windowless room helps too.
