The Years Passed…

7 Mar

Started gym seriously again in Jan 2009 after slacking for 9 years.

I’ve been told that building up is hard. Packing on muscles are hard. Slimming down is hard. But I can tell you all the previous are easy compared to maintaining it day in day out. There are a lot of builders, fitness builders, dieters & fitness models with awesome physique a few months of the year and they slack out when the season is low. It would be impossible to stick on a strict, disciplined and well monitored diet everyday for most people when comfort food seems common and means of socializing seems to be sitting down in a restaurant, pub or a cafe. It’s easy to consume comfort food as they are delicious. Much more delicious than most of the healthier selections anyways. Asked and everyone will tell you it’s impossible to escape the cravings for these sinful mouthwatering cheat food. So here, I downloaded the pics from my Facebook albums to show my monthly conditions since I started in Jan 2009

Not long later I got into acting and it's always good to have assets so I kept pumping. And eventually I got into fitness modeling

I’m still a common guy. Social Life, family responsibility, work & daily chores. So if you tell me it’s impossible, I’m no alien. It’s just a choice. Lots of sacrifice had to be made. Early mornings or late evenings. Less sleep. But I made sure my diet is proper. Always eat on time and never skip any meals. And to add to that, my father despise this interest of mine and always creating obstacles and barriers for me to face just to turn me away from heading towards my goal. Yet it never stops me from doing what i believe in and it’s been 39 months now.

I guess after that I just started loving it. It's more like bitten by a gympire - I've been turned

I managed to overcome my cravings. It seems common for me to consume the healthier selections. Instead I find it hard to take cheat food or comfort food. Probably I’m so used to it that it seems uncommon to me now. So usually I don’t cheat as I know if there is any function I might or might not have a choice. But I still keep the portion in check and the ingredient too. Other than no that, no matter what the circumstances is I’ll still have my minimum 30 minutes workout, 6 days a week.

The health benefits seems to be motivating enough but coming back to Miri, Sarawak was a big step. I ended up using my knowledge which I obtained to coach others in the gym

I guess if you really wanna talk fitness or judge someone, don’t just look at them within a short period of time instead check their record month in month out. As I said earlier, it’s easy to build and cut but it’s harder to maintain. Enjoy my progress. I’ll keep pumping, eat healthy and motivate others.

It weren't easy to pull through especially when you are staying with your family who don't see the point of keeping your diet in check... health wise

2 years passed and I'm still going strong. Cheating on food seems to be an awkward moment for me. Being in conditioned every month, I got around to know the local bodybuilders who convinced me to join the year's competition. So I started on my competition routine

Got 3rd place in Bantam Weight category. Epic Fail on my posing routine.lol.anyways, I'm happy I took on the competition as it pushes me to pump harder which never ends after the competition. I carried on my competition routine even after the competition ended.

Finally I did something naughty and hook up with a local photographer to work on a Artistic Nude Album.... and it carries on from there... still

FITNESS IS NOT A TREND. ITS RELIGION

Working on my Biceps with the Smith-Machine Rope Curl

Walk into the gym and you see people entering with all sorta fashionable kicks and brands. One corner you see those who enthusiastically performing home workout… in the gym? Sometimes I wonder if they don’t need the dumbbells or barbells or even the machines nor the cardio machines why would they occupy all the space where others wants to utilize them? And drinking those protein or healthy shakes in the gym and the very next moment you see them at the mamak (Indian restaurant) below ordering Roti Canai with heavy curry and Teh Tarik (milk tea)

Fitness is not just 30 – 45 minutes a day in your life. Nor is it 3 – 4 times a week. You can’t just expect to look like Thor with just those minutes. For instance, if you want to court a girl but you only remembers her when she is around do you think you can ever get the girl? If you can constantly think of all sorta ways to court her throughout the day why can’t you maintain your fitness throughout the day? It’s as easy as waking up 15 – 20 minutes earlier to prepare your healthy meals throughout the day, parking your car a little further away from your office so you can walk those 5 extra minutes. Taking those extra steps rather than the lift. Stand whenever possible as standing would use more energy and boost up your metabolism to burn more fats. Drink plain water instead. It’s not very hard is it? I use to carry 3 litres of water in my bag. Now my office have water dispenser.

Fitness is not hard. All you have to do is step out of your comfort zone just a little and the little actions does make a lot of difference.
